J.R. Cruz is currently in two national commercials airing not only in the U.S but also Latin America. J.R. irrupted into the industry with his breakout role in the film “Quincenera" (Sundance Audience and Jury Award Winner) With his 10 plus years as an improv artist (Groundlings, Hollywood) he blasted into the standup scene. J.R. performs all over the country and you can regularly seen him in Los Angeles at The Comedy Store, The Improv, Haha Cafe and Ice House.

Born in Pacoima, CA and raised by his grandparents and not so conventional Gangsters Uncles, J.R.’s comedy is a blend of awkward world interactions and storytelling. J.R. is fluent in Spanish and is not only a comedian but an accomplished bilingual dramatic actor and instructor. He currently teaches acting in Los Angeles at The Dustin Felder Acting Studio.
